The ANIMATOR'S NOTEBOOKS - HERE AT LAST!
Well, they've been a long while coming but they're here at last - "The ANIMATOR'S NOTEBOOK" digital tutorial series!
This downloadable series is comprised of 12 downloadable tutorials that cover what I believe to be the core and essential techniques that all top animators should know. The first three of these - "PROCESS and PRINCIPLES", "GENERIC WALKS" and "STYLIZED WALKS" - are available now by either clicking on the links in my store to the right of this page or else by going to the Focal Press 'eResources' website.
Each 'Notebook' contains something like 20-30 pages of my hand-written notes, embedded with line illustrations and animated examples of what is being taught. I think this series is a first of its kind, so I'm naturally very proud of it!

Further Notebooks in the series will include: "PERSONALITY WALKS", "QUADRUPED WALKS", "RUNS", "JUMPS", "WEIGHT", "ARCS and ANTICIPATIONS", "OVERLAPPING ACTIONS", " FLUIDITY AND FLEXIBILITY" and "DIALOGUE BASICS". All Notebooks are $9.95 each.

I conceived the series so that each animator (yes 2D, 3D or any other form of animation) would have a quick, inexpensive and immediately accessible access to definitive information on these subjects. The idea is that if you're animating something specific and need instant reference for what you are trying to do, then you can immediately download the information to your desktop - rather than have to go out and buy a complete book on animation (the majority of information in which you may never actually use).

Anyway, this series has truly been a long and exhausting 'labor or love' for me. So I hope you'll enjoy this Notebook series and find each one of the tutorials extremely valuable in your own animation work! I've tried to offer a personal and immediate series of resources that I would like to have whenever I needed them. So - 'happy animating'!
